I was thinking of some recipes I might share with you all to be a comfort during this season, (is it winter still? Early Spring? Who can tell?) and I decided that oatmeal is the kind of food that deserves a whole email. We've gone through seasons where the kids eat SO MUCH oatmeal that they actually don't want anything to do with it anymore. But, we always circle back to that hearty, versatile food. From two-minute apple pie oatmeal to homemade granola to protein balls, this little grain goes far, and we are in the season of loving it again. I love how you can mix so many different things into each of those recipes to make them completely your own, too. Try pumpkin instead of applesauce for an oatmeal mix-in, try different nuts, dried fruits or chocolates in the granola, and try all four of the varieties they have listed for the protein balls.
I hope your in-between winter and spring is going well, and I hope a comfort food like oatmeal would make it even better!
