Conquering Monday Morning

I know for many of us, Monday mornings can bring a lot of anxiety, a lot of dread for all the to-do's, and sometimes we end up feeling like we just can't do it! But, it doesn't have to be that way, and I wanted to share a few tips I use to preempt that Monday meltdown.
First thing, I like to start by cleaning my kitchen. I shared an email a few weeks back on how important this is to me, and that definitely is the first thing I set out to do. If you are one who gets your kitchen squared away every night, GOOD JOB! That isn't me in this particular season of life with kids coming and going at all hours of the day, but I still make sure the kitchen is good-to-go first thing when I am up!
Second tip I have is to take all those racing thoughts you have for your day and your week, and get them out of your head! You can use your phone notes app, pen and paper, whatever! It just calms everything down when you get those lists down. Then, I can actually start to prioritize and evaluate what I can do today, what I should do first, and even what I can let go of.
The third thing? Oh, it's a doozy, but a good one. Do that one thing you've been putting off. Whatever it is that you have needed to do FOREVER--just do it! It will clear up all that mental load and get you a BIG WIN (even if it's a little thing) for the day!
Fourth and final thing I do if I wake up overwhelmed: I will set up something for my future self. Maybe that's prepping dinner or something else that will really help future you! Again, it's about banking up some wins right from the start!
