One of our favorite family traditions during the holiday season is GAMES! We implement all sorts of activities so that all ages from young to old have a ton of fun. I want our house to be the place they want to be! 🤣 The best tip I have is to save all fun games/activities/dances in a folder on Instagram or YouTube or wherever works for you. Here are a few we have enjoyed in the past with links to help illustrate them:
First, we like a game called IMPOSTER. You give three people cards with a word on it, one person gets a blank card or a card that says IMPOSTER. The four people go around saying one word that describes the word. The imposter tries not to get caught by using the clues from the other players' to trick everyone. The other people have to guess who's the imposter.
Next, we have played the HUMAN SLOT MACHINE game. This is also fun for all ages. Three people have baskets with various items in them. When it's your turn to do the slot machine, the three randomly pull out an item and if the three items match, you win! You could totally theme this for Thanksgiving with festive items!
We've loved a game called SILENT NIGHT (more for Christmas, but fun anytime). One person is blindfolded with a dart gun. Everyone else has to hide somewhere and freeze, staying quiet. The hunter goes around trying to find and shoot everyone. It's honestly so much fun--we did it last year and everyone had a blast.
We always have card games going, like DUTCH BLITZ as well as puzzles. We will also come up with cheesy prizes. I hope you find some that work for your family and make some awesome core memories!
